Upon spotting a puppy wandering the streets of Arizona, a compassionate individual approached her to check if she needed assistance. As they drew near, they realized this adorable dog was pregnant.
The Good Samaritan brought her to the county shelter, where they provided the staff with details about her plight.
The shelter welcomed her without delay and reached out to another facility, recognizing that they could provide superior care for this remarkable soon-to-be mother.
One Day At A Time
Once Sky Sanctuary Rescue, an Arizona-based animal rescue, heard about this lovely girl, they promptly agreed to take her in.
“We found her huddled on the cement floor, shivering with fear. After some gentle encouragement, she finally mustered the courage to walk on the leash,” Sky Sanctuary Rescue shared in a Facebook post.
After successfully getting the now-named Pony into the car, which took a few attempts, they were ready to start her new journey.
Upon arriving at the shelter, the staff had already set up a warm, cozy bed for Pony so she could feel relaxed and at home.
The team ensured she had all the necessities, fully aware that she could go into labor at any moment.
And they were correct! Within a day, Pony welcomed a delightful litter!
With a strong male puppy and seven beautiful female pups, Pony has never felt prouder, supported by the amazing Sky Sanctuary staff every step of the way.
Pony embraced her new role as a mother with dedication, spending each day with her adorable offspring, ensuring they were well-fed and clean.
One Proud Mama
In such a nurturing environment, the puppies thrived, growing big and healthy in no time!
They began to run around, playing with their toys and with each other, enjoying frequent group naps—after all, these little ones were sleepy every hour!
“Pony and her puppies are thriving. Pony is a fantastic mother, and her pups are utterly delightful. Can you believe they’re about to be five weeks old? They’ve grown so much!” the shelter updated.
Though this lovely family will remain in the shelter’s care for now, the staff is actively seeking loving homes for each of the pups, ensuring they all find a forever family filled with love.
When the time comes, I have no doubt this adorable litter and their mother will live the happiest of lives!
