Animal enthusiasts will agree that the moment they encounter an animal in distress, they are compelled to offer all possible assistance.
This sentiment is particularly strong among shelters and rescue organizations.
The team at Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue handles numerous calls concerning animals in difficult situations. Whenever they receive a distress call, they promptly gear up and head out.
Such was the case when they were alerted about a puppy appearing to be stuck in a muddy ditch.
However, they would soon realize that things were not quite as they seemed.
Emergency Call

Upon receiving the first call, the skilled rescuers quickly made their way to the site.
Within 20 minutes, they reached the area and upon locating the dog, they noticed something was amiss.
Upon inspecting further, they discovered that the situation didn’t require their help because it turned out this wasn’t a dog at all.
“It was a statue! A statue that had already been rescued by a member of staff on site!” the rescue organization shared in a Facebook post recounting the incident.
Regardless, the rescue team welcomed the opportunity to engage with the faux dog.
In fact, according to a representative from Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue, they were thrilled to have received so many calls regarding the situation, and ultimately, it was a non-emergency – just a lighthearted mix-up.
“It’s always a relief when there isn’t an injured animal to care for,” the representative conveyed to The Dodo.

Significance of Rescuers
This “fake” rescue highlights just how committed rescuers are when it comes to aiding animals in distress.
Globally, countless individuals devote their time, resources, and efforts to reassure helpless animals that, with a bit of kindness and care, life can hold meaning.
Just like the rescuers in today’s tale, they stand ready to lend a hand in any way possible.
Thus, I want to seize this moment to express gratitude to every single person who has stepped up to assist an animal in need, demonstrating that we share a bond meant for coexistence. Thank you, everyone – you are the real heroes.
