This is the story of Gordough, a beautiful dog who was left heartbroken when his owners abandoned him, tying him to a bench at a park.

An Adorable Dog In Need Of Help
The brave rescuers from the Austin Humane Society in Texas were utterly shocked to discover a large Pit Bull mix tied to a bench, his face expressing desperate longing.
They immediately recognized his need for medical attention.
“He was … crusty from head to toe. He had skin and eye infections and urgently required medicated baths, ointments, and eye drops,” the 15/10 Foundation shared on Facebook.
Despite his discomfort, the moment Gordough saw the rescuers, excitement surged through him, and his tail began to wag.
As they gently caressed his head, Gordough realized he had finally found the champions he had been waiting for. His eyes shimmered with love and gratitude as they freed him from the bench.
A Lot Of Love And Care
The rescuers hurried him to the shelter.
From the moment the shelter staff encountered him, they were instantly charmed by him.
“Gordough is a big fellow, weighing 115 pounds, but he has such a gentle and loving spirit,” shared the Austin Humane Society on Instagram.
His caregivers gave him a thorough bath, and Gordough displayed remarkable patience as they applied various ointments to his skin.
The staff enveloped him in love and warmth through endless cuddles. The gentle giant fully appreciated their kind gestures. Seeing their smiling faces instilled a sense of safety within him.
Gordough’s face gradually lit up with joy.
Finally, Gordough found contentment in the much-needed respite.
“Gordough resembles one of those reclining happy Buddha statues come to life—a true zen master who inspires couch potatoes everywhere,” said the Austin-based organization to the 15/10 Foundation, later shared on Facebook.

The organization stepped in to cover Gordough’s medical bills. Thanks to their generous support, Gordough received the crucial treatment he needed.

Soon after, Gordough settled into a loving foster home, where he continued his recovery.
Initially, the foster family intended to look after him for a while, but they quickly realized that Gordough was meant to stay with them.
The lovable boy won them over completely, and they chose to adopt him, pledging their everlasting love.
Gordough now revels in snuggles with his forever family and soaks up the endless affection they provide. He also enjoys playing with his toys and indulging in peaceful naps.
