Driver Spotted Movement in the Snow and Soon Discovered Its True Nature

Date:

Winter is often a challenging time for animal rescues. The frigid temperatures make it difficult to save animals in need.

Compounding the issue, many animals are fearful of people and prefer to remain in the harsh weather rather than accept assistance.

This tale recounts a team of rescuers who received a report of an animal concealed beneath the snow and sprang into action to help.

What Could It Be

While a couple of gentlemen were driving along a road, they spotted something peculiar nearby.

It appeared that something was stirring in the snow, yet they couldn’t quite make out what it was. They exited their car to investigate the area.

To their astonishment, they discovered a dog concealed in the snow. The poor creature had attempted to create a small nest for warmth but was unaware that it wouldn’t be sufficient.

The drivers contacted Steinbach Area Animal Rescue for assistance, and they promptly responded.

The rescuers noted that she was very matted, which likely helped her endure the freezing temperatures.

Despite their gentle nudges, she was reluctant to move. They decided to use a tarp to carry her through the snow and into their vehicle.

Once safely inside, they activated the heater and hurried to a veterinary clinic to ensure her health.

At the clinic, the veterinarians informed the rescuer Michelle that Winnie was suffering from a fever and dehydration, but she was expected to recover.

Due to her timid nature, they decided to sedate her to remove her excess fur. It was apparent that she felt relieved once it was gone, looking adorable in the process.

The first person she formed a bond with at the shelter was Graham. He also found joy in her company and chose to adopt her.

Now living as Winnie, she quickly adapted to her new home, meeting many new dog companions with whom she got along splendidly.

Graham took her to a pet store, where they picked out a new jacket for her. Understanding her struggle in the cold, her new owner decided she deserved a warm coat.

Now, everything has changed dramatically. Winnie revels in the snow and enjoys playing with everyone she meets. Her transformation in such a short period has been remarkable.

With a wonderful owner, she now leads a life filled with warmth, companionship from other dogs, and a loving family willing to do anything for her.
