Everyone deserves an opportunity to start anew—particularly those who have faced hardship during their upbringing.
This is precisely why, when The Animal Rescue Center of California received a call regarding a Brindle at risk of being euthanized within an hour, they immediately halted their activities and rushed to the shelter to save him.
Fortunately, they arrived just in time.
Racing Against Time

Upon arrival, they discovered that the dog was moments away from being euthanized due to showing his teeth to an animal control officer, which led to him being labeled Code Red.
They also found out that the dog, subsequently named Milo, had a hearing issue, which they believed contributed to his anxiety and behavior.
Recognizing that the shelter environment was not beneficial for him, The Animal Rescue Center of California decided to rescue him.

As soon as he reached the shelter, he was introduced to Michelle Bergeron, the Adoption Alliance rescue program supervisor. After just a short interaction, Bergeron grasped the situation surrounding the pup.
“He doesn’t hear things approaching. I accidentally nudged him with my foot, and he turned around startled, but then he realized it was me and calmed down,” Bergeron recounted in a YouTube video.

By the following day, Milo had found a foster home!
However, as he got into the car and realized what was happening, Milo struggled to bid farewell to Bergeron, the human who had showered him with unconditional love.
But Milo was about to meet another wonderful human named Alex—his new foster mom.
New Life

The time Milo spent in his foster home was filled with joy and affection. He reveled in playful moments with his foster mom, as well as his favorite toys and his wagging tail.
Nevertheless, despite his fun with Alex, Milo longed for a family of his own.
Unfortunately, it took longer than expected for that dream to come true.

After spending some quality time with Alex, Milo was placed with another foster who continued to provide him love and care.
Though initially a bit disoriented, it didn’t take long for Milo to realize he was in safe hands.
“Last night went smoothly… He doesn’t seem to go into the kennel by himself, so while I was on the couch, he laid by my side on the floor. I decided to stay there for a while. Around 3 AM, I moved to the bed. He came into the room and rested on the carpet at the foot of the bed. About 6 AM, he partially jumped onto the bed, and I told him it was alright to come up… then we dozed off for a bit longer,” shared the California shelter in a Facebook post.
Fortunately, Milo didn’t have to adapt to his new environment for long, as just a few months after arriving at his second foster home, Milo was adopted!

Milo was welcomed into a fantastic family that already had a dog, providing him not only with a warm and nurturing home but also a furry companion.
From being on the brink of euthanasia to spending four years in foster care, this pup is finally able to unwind and appreciate the joys of his new life!
Good boy, Milo!
