This Loyal Dog Refuses to Leave His Injured Friend Until Help Arrives

Date:

Upon witnessing two dogs darting across a hectic highway in California, a driver felt a wave of fear.

Concerned for their safety, they quickly contacted Suzette Hall, a dog rescuer and the founder of Logan’s Legacy. They informed her that the dogs needed immediate assistance, with one or both potentially injured.

Hall, joined by two fellow rescuers, Lou Dora and Arturo Flores, rushed to the highway ramp where the dogs were last spotted.

Two Friends Comfort Each Other

Upon arriving, the rescuers began their search for the dogs. While examining the foliage, Hall discovered the Great Pyrenees lying motionless on the ground.

The sight of the despondent look on the dog’s face filled her with sadness. Hall observed that the pup’s eyes were filled with fear. It seemed as if she had lost all hope for rescue.

When Hall spotted a small dog, subsequently named Ambrose, nestled beside his injured companion, her heart overflowed with compassion.

Though Ambrose wasn’t hurt—he was able to move freely—he chose to remain close to his best friend. They were inseparable. His loyalty was unwavering.

The rescuers speculated that the Great Pyrenees had been struck by a car. They could only imagine the trauma she had endured. Her only solace was Ambrose. His presence next to her provided some comfort.

When Ambrose realized that the rescuers were there to help his companion, he couldn’t contain his joy.

“I can’t express how thrilled he was that we arrived to save her. He was bouncing with excitement,” Hall shared with The Dodo.

The Rescue of Two Best Friends

The rescuers understood the need for caution. The proximity to the highway required them to approach slowly, ensuring not to frighten the dogs.

Initially, they rescued Ambrose.

Shortly after, Hall tenderly scooped up the beautiful Great Pyrenees, later named Seraphina, and placed her in her vehicle.

Ambrose and Seraphina were relieved to know that someone had come to help. Seraphina’s eyes began to fill with newfound hope.

Hall brought the dogs to a veterinarian for a thorough examination. Her heart soared when the vet confirmed that Seraphina’s leg was not broken, contrary to her initial fears. She simply had a minor wound that would heal easily.

Ambrose received a clean bill of health and was sent to a foster home, while Seraphina continued her recovery at the vet’s office.

Once Seraphina has fully recovered, the two best friends will be reunited.

Hall frequently visits them, and the dogs are always elated to see their rescuer. As soon as they spot her, they wrap their paws around her, showering her with the sweetest hugs.

“I have never encountered two dogs so joyful and thankful for being rescued,” remarked Hall.

I firmly believe these lovely pups will find their fairy-tale ending. They deserve a loving family to cherish them as they have always envisioned.

Heartfelt thanks to the Good Samaritan who reached out to Logan’s Legacy, along with the dedicated rescuers who saved Ambrose and Seraphina from the treacherous California highway.
