California Rescuers Stunned to Discover Dogs They Saved Had Objects Stuck on Their Heads

Peanut Butter and Jelly, rescued from the streets, caught the eye of staff at Sonoma County Animal Services in California. Upon arrival, the shelter team noticed something unexpected: shiny jewelry glued to their foreheads. This unusual discovery left even the seasoned animal care staff shocked, as they had never encountered such a situation before.

The Adorable Duo Finds A Home

Peanut Butter, a Beagle and Pug mix, and Jelly, a female Chihuahua mix, underwent a thorough checkup. The veterinary team carefully removed the glue and determined that, although the adhesive had caused secondary burns resulting in scars, their overall health remained intact. Eager to find their forever home, the pups were ecstatic when a loving family adopted them. Unfortunately, after their owner passed away, they once again found themselves without a caregiver.

At The Shelter Once Again

After being returned to Sonoma County Animal Services, Peanut Butter and Jelly were transferred to Muttville Senior Dog Rescue in San Francisco, a non-profit dedicated to finding forever homes for dogs over seven years old. Their foster mom, Lisa Arden, showered them with love, cuddling and caring for them as they gradually revealed their unique personalities. As Arden put it, “They are very sweet and friendly dogs who are great around people and get along well with other dogs. They continue to blossom in foster, showing both of their silly personalities. They are both still quite active and love to run around and play. They are just the most wonderful dogs.” Despite Peanut Butter’s loving nature, Jelly took the lead and often dictated his actions.

A Forever Home

Despite being in foster care for three months without any adoption applications, Arden created a TikTok video to showcase the dogs and connect them with potential adopters. The video went viral, capturing the hearts of many.

On October 26^th 2023, Arden shared joyful news on her Instagram — Peanut Butter and Jelly had a virtual meet and greet with their new dad, leaving Arden confident that they had found the perfect home. They eagerly await the finalization of the adoption, dreaming of adventures to come as they ride into the sunset with their new dad.
