It’s well known that Huskies are the ultimate entertainers, and King certainly embodies that title!
This charming Husky not only enjoys having a good time but is also quite the escape artist. One night, he left the staff at an Arizona shelter in disbelief when he set off the alarm by getting out of his kennel.
However, instead of making a run for it, King had something else entirely in mind. Here’s the twist…
The Unexpected Intruder
Jodi Polanski from Lost Our Home Pet Rescue in Tempe, Arizona, was startled when the burglary alarm went off in the middle of the night. Motion was detected in her office, but she had no clue it was all thanks to one mischievous Husky from the shelter.
Upon reviewing the footage, she quickly discovered that the so-called intruder was none other than King, who decided to throw a little personal party while the coast was clear!
Initially, he tried to let some of his dog friends out. He lingered by their kennels for a bit, but after realizing he couldn’t manage that, he set off on his solo “shelter adventure”!
Rather than making a break for freedom, King wandered into the shelter’s office.
As it turned out, he preferred the office over the escape route because that’s where the staff stored the treats! Like a pro, he managed to open the door, helped himself to some snacks, and enjoyed a midnight feast.
During his little celebration, he accidentally scattered some treats, creating a mess all over the floor.
What King didn’t realize was that his little escapade had already notified the police.
“The Tempe Police Department received a call about what can only be described as the cutest arrest ever,” the LOHPR team shared on Facebook.
Fortunately, a police officer with round-the-clock access to the shelter (for emergencies involving animals) caught King in the act shortly thereafter!
A Noble Act
Instead of appearing anxious or afraid, King greeted the officer with a wagging tail and a joyful wiggle. It turns out that he was completely fine with being ‘arrested’. He simply wanted a companion, and the officer arrived just in time!
The officer made sure to return King to his kennel without any fuss.
Then, he did something truly commendable. He took it upon himself to clean up the mess created by King, ensuring everything was back in order.
“This pup displayed some impressive skills, along with one of the coolest police officers who went the extra mile by tidying up after the dog’s antics,” the rescue praised.
Polanski expressed her gratitude for how well the situation was managed and appreciated the officer’s efforts.
Fortunately, King has since been adopted into a loving family, and he no longer has a reason to escape from kennels. He has a whole house to call home and plenty of space to roam!
