Kona was one such lovely puppy who longed for a nurturing home while wandering the desolate streets of Georgia. She was merely a small ball of fur wishing to nestle with her human companions and experience love for the very first time.
Rescuers Discover the Adorable Puppy
Locating Kona, rescuers took her to a shelter where they comforted and embraced her. The staff, believing she had a better chance of being adopted elsewhere, transferred her to Save A Life Pet Rescue in Florida.
Kona thrived in the presence of caring people who showered her with affection. As soon as she was ready for adoption, her picture was shared on the organization’s website.
When a woman named Collyn saw Kona’s photo, her heart simply melted.
“I can’t quite explain it, but I felt a unique connection with this dog,” she shared with GeoBeats Animals.
Kona Finds Joy in a Loving Family
Collyn and her husband made the decision to adopt this precious puppy. They opened their home to her and enveloped her with love.
Kona and her mom forged a deep bond, and the lovable pup transformed into her soul companion.
Kona remains ever loyal by her mom’s side, excelling at interpreting her emotions. Whenever the sweet pooch senses Collyn is feeling down, she offers her comfort by resting her head on her mother.
Collyn sometimes feels like Kona possesses the eyes of a person within a dog’s form. The way Kona locks eyes with others gives the impression that she comprehends the world around her. Her various expressions captivate Collyn’s attention.
With an underbite that causes her lip to get stuck on her teeth, her mom finds it amusing.
Experiencing Love
Since her arrival at their home, Kona has adored people.
While she may not enjoy the company of other dogs, her foster brother Mako is a notable exception. The two dogs formed an immediate bond. Witnessing their affection led Collyn and her husband to provide Mako with a permanent home as well.
The siblings frequently cuddle and share generous amounts of kisses with one another.
Collyn feels she is Kona’s favorite person in the household, even though she acknowledges that Kona might love both parents equally.
“I believe I am her favorite person here. She clearly respects my husband more, but as far as seeking cuddles, I think she loves me more. But I might just be projecting my hopes. She may love us equally,” Collyn noted.
Kona is living her best life in her forever home. Every day, her mom reminds her of the love she receives.
“The connection I have with her will likely surpass any bond I could ever form with another animal,” she expressed.
Together with their parent, Kona and Mako frequently share updates on Instagram. They enjoy taking walks and spending quality time together. Their family adores them, and both dogs are thriving in their vibrant lives.
