Construction Worker in Virginia Shocked to Discover Abandoned Kittens in a Dumpster

Date:

Witnessing an abandoned or dumped dog is one of the most tragic sights imaginable. Unfortunately, not everyone shares the same compassion, as some individuals are capable of committing such heartless acts. Among the most reprehensible actions is the cruel abandonment of newborn puppies. Occasionally, we are confronted with these harrowing stories, and it becomes nearly impossible to hold back tears.

If it is tough to read about, it is even more gut-wrenching to witness such cruelty firsthand. This was the experience of a construction worker in Appomattox, Virginia, who stumbled upon a shocking scene during his workday. After a tiring shift, he heard faint cries nearby, which led him to discover something heartbreaking in a nearby dumpster.

Poor Little Ones

Upon peering inside the dumpster, the worker found a dog food bag containing four newborn brown and white puppies, cold to the touch. Reacting swiftly, he called animal control, who quickly arrived, collected the puppies, and transported them to Appomattox Animal Shelter.

Safe And Sound

Once at the shelter, the puppies were given a warm place to rest and were well-fed. It was discovered that they were only 24 hours old, which made their survival nothing short of miraculous. According to the shelter, “Considering how young these puppies were and taken away from Mom so soon, they were in very good condition. They took right to bottle feeding and were able to be warmed up fairly quickly.”

The puppies were named Walter White, Gus Fring, Saul Goodman, and Jane Margolis, inspired by characters from the popular TV show “Breaking Bad.” They were soon transferred to the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA, where they will be nurtured by a loving foster family until they find forever homes.

With the compassion of those at the shelter and the SPCA, we believe that these little ones have a bright future ahead, surrounded by caring individuals who will support them until they achieve their happily ever after.
