Recalling my days with a beloved dog, I remember how sociable he was, always eager to play. I now regret not getting him a companion. Though he seemed content with us, I believe every dog deserves a friend to share their life with.
When a couple moved from New Mexico to Colorado, their dog faced a similar loneliness. Previously surrounded by playmates, he now found himself alone, and his owners noticed his isolation.
Cambria Was Lonely
Alisha shared with The Dodo: “We noticed she was getting lonely and wasn’t herself.” Heartbroken by her sadness, they realized they needed to act. Since both were at work during the day, Cambria often spent her time alone and required a dog sibling.
Understanding this, Alisha and her partner decided to adopt another dog to join Cambria. Just as they were about to open the door, Cambria sensed the arrival of her new sibling. Her tail wagged in excitement as she eagerly jumped against the door window.
When they brought in the new dog, Cozy, her astonishment was palpable. Alisha recalled: “She just could not even believe that this was happening.” From the start, Cambria welcomed her new companion, and her parents felt confident they would bond well.
Cambria And Cozy
Their days unfolded with the two dogs gradually playing and frolicking around the house, which brought great joy to Alisha. She noted: “But, over the next few days, they blended together so well. And it just felt like we had always had Cozy.” With a new friend by her side, Cambria’s sadness vanished; her cheerful spirit returned, and her parents felt immense pride in her acceptance of Cozy.
Cambria’s story emphasizes the significance of friendships, not only for humans but also for our dogs. While they cherish our company, they also thrive on having canine companions to keep them company when we are away. After a long workday, it’s challenging for us to engage in social activities without our furry friends.
This is why it’s vital for them to have puppy siblings by their side. I’m thrilled to see that Cambria’s situation turned out so positively. She is truly a happy dog who deserves all the joy in the world.
