With no comforting home or affectionate caregiver, these unfortunate animals spend their days searching desperately for food scraps, often falling asleep with hungry bellies.
It is a constant struggle for all of them.
Occasionally, a kind-hearted person may lend a hand, but more frequently, they encounter apathy and cruelty.
Some dogs, like the one featured in this tale, resort to risking their lives by stepping into traffic just to beg for a small meal.
Stopping Cars for Assistance
Love Furry Friends is a small rescue organization dedicated to caring for unwanted and stray animals. Its founder, Olena, possesses a deep passion for all animals, particularly those without homes.
Her aim has always been to establish a safe haven for rescued animals and assist them in finding loving forever homes; however, she cannot achieve this mission single-handedly.
The area surrounding her has over 20,000 stray dogs, and the situation worsens each year.
All available shelters are full to capacity, leaving many stray animals with no choice but to remain on the streets, even in freezing winters and scorching summers.
It is truly heart-wrenching to consider that so many innocent animals face daily struggles for survival.
Even though Olena cannot physically rescue every dog, she does her best to assist as many as possible. She provides food, water, treats, vaccinations, and ensures they are spayed and neutered.
It’s the least she can do to aid these suffering animals. “I aim to set an example for others to care for animals and not hesitate to extend their hands for help and love,” she shares on her YouTube channel.
Feeding the Hungry
When this lovable dog spotted someone approaching, he eagerly dashed towards the car seeking help.
Olena quickly stopped her vehicle to provide food, but she soon noticed another dog approaching hesitantly.
This second dog wasn’t as sociable, yet his eyes reflected deep sadness, silently yearning for assistance.
After showing some affection towards the first dog, she poured kibble for both canines, which they eagerly devoured.
They were living in a desolate area with little to no activity, so without Olena’s food deliveries, they would go days without sustenance.
After ensuring they had food, she provided them with water to help hydrate them. While the black and brown dog remained cautious, he still appreciated the gifts she brought.
While this may not be a perfect solution, at least they don’t have to sleep on empty stomachs.
