Failed by his owner and left for good, this is a story of a pup who faced unimaginable hardships. Abandoned in an outdoor restroom at just eight weeks old, he was left to confront a world full of frightening realities, far from any humane conditions.
Thrown Away To Fend For Himself
A woman discovered the puppy lying on the filthy restroom floor and quickly alerted Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control in Indiana. The puppy was extremely malnourished, with his spine protruding and urine-stained paws.
“This sweet boy was malnourished with his rib cage and spine showing, had urine-stained paws and overgrown nails, and was quite scared. Our medical team examined his overall health, and the main concern was getting him to a healthy weight,” shared the rescue in a Facebook post.
The main goal was to provide medical care and as much love as possible to this evidently scared pup. Remarkably, he quickly warmed up to his rescuers, showcasing the resilience and affection he had to offer.
Upon his arrival at the shelter, he transformed into the sweetest lapdog, reveling in the affection he had long desired. During his recovery, a special meal plan was arranged to ensure he regained his health without upsetting his digestive system.
The True Testament To How Forgiving Animals Can Be
After his rescue, the puppy was placed in a foster home, which turned out to be the best decision! This little hero has been a delightful lovebug since meeting his rescuers, and now he has the opportunity for a brand new life.
“This precious boy has been a little wiggly angel despite being failed by the person that was supposed to care for him. Once his excitement for you calms down, he loves curling up in your warm lap. What a testament to how forgiving animals can be,” his caregivers expressed on Facebook.
The Indiana rescue celebrated Louie’s fantastic first day with his foster family, but he still needed a name. They turned to their Facebook followers for suggestions, and just a day later, they introduced his new name!
“The puppy that was found abandoned in a porta-potty now has a name…Louie! ✨ The name translates to ‘famous warrior’,” the rescue announced in an update.
Now, Louie is learning socialization and healthy dog manners alongside his new siblings. With a warm home filled with love and new friends, he is ready to embrace an exciting new chapter in his life. When the time comes, I am absolutely confident Louie will find a forever family who will cherish him, as he truly deserves!
