Unfortunately, a growing number of puppies are being abandoned on streets worldwide by careless owners who show no remorse.
This act is not only heartless but also worsens the already pressing issues that animal shelters face, such as overcrowding and limited funding.
One such puppy, just two weeks old, was left on a busy street by someone who clearly had no interest in caring for him.
Luckily, a kind passerby heard the little pup’s cries and contacted an animal rescue for assistance.
Saved Just In Time
As the rescuers arrived, they discovered the tiniest puppy who had just opened his eyes, struggling to find his way on the bustling street.
The poor creature was lost, bewildered, and terrified. He was unsteadily teetering near the road, and it was nothing short of a miracle that a vehicle didn’t hit him.
Being so young, he couldn’t feed himself and kept crying out for his mother.
If the rescuers hadn’t come when they did, his chances of survival would have been minimal.
After being rescued, the puppy was taken to a safe, warm environment; however, it soon became clear that his circumstances were even graver than initially thought.
He was experiencing frequent seizures, resembling epilepsy. It was truly heartbreaking to watch him suffer.
The little one continued crying endlessly – he wouldn’t eat anything and barely exhibited any swallowing reflex.
Fearing for his life, everyone hurried him to the veterinary clinic. In addition to being just 20 ounces, he was running a high fever.
The Road To Recovery
The veterinarians faced challenges examining the little one due to his size, but they did everything possible to assist him.
He stayed at the veterinary clinic for five days until his condition stabilized enough for discharge.
While there was no specific diagnosis, the seizures sadly ceased and did not return.
Upon leaving the clinic, the little one – now named Blueberry – went to a temporary foster home.
His foster family provided him with excellent care, and he began to flourish. Blueberry even made a gentle furry friend who enjoyed playing with him.
Within days at the foster home, Blueberry’s health greatly improved. He transformed from a little crying baby into a joyful and playful bundle of energy.
He will remain in the foster care until he is ready for adoption, and once he is old enough, he will hopefully find his forever home.
After all that Blueberry has endured in his short life, he deserves nothing but happiness and joy moving forward.
