Meet Maple, the charming Pittie girl who was fighting for her life when she was discovered under a bridge in California. With serious wounds and lacerations, she felt hopeless, but one day, everything changed!

Maple’s Journey to Recovery
Zach Skow from Marley’s Mutts Dog Rescue discovered Maple and instantly fell in love! This sweet Pittie had multiple severe injuries, fully bandaged, yet her eyes sparkled with hope whenever someone showed her kindness.
“The first thing that struck me was her eagerness for human affection. She craved closeness with people,” Zach shared with The Dodo.
Determined to help her, Zach planned to bring Maple to his ranch for her recovery. Shortly after, he received a call from Randi, a devoted dog foster, who immediately volunteered to care for her.
Randi provided attentive care for Maple, including regular vet visits to change her dressings. In a short amount of time, Maple began to trust Randi and gradually came out of her shell. For the first time in what felt like forever, she started to believe again!
One day, after a vet appointment, Maple came out showcasing the cutest new wrap! Instead of her usual bandages, she was adorned in a butterfly-like costume adorned with little hearts.
“She walked out so proud, head held high with her tail up,” Randi recalled to The Dodo.
The transformation was remarkable! She seemed like a new dog, evolving from a “poor baby” to a “stylish girl.”
Zach adored Maple’s new appearance! She radiated sweetness and enthusiasm, almost like she was ready to take flight – just like a beautiful butterfly!
Onward to Her Forever Home
Rocky Kanaka, a passionate dog advocate, played a vital role in Maple’s incredible journey! Along with Zach and his team, he helped bring attention to Maple’s story through his show, aiding her in finding a permanent home.
“Incredible to think she was once under a bridge without hope, and now she’s on a Hollywood lot in front of the American Dream home,” Rocky noted on his Facebook.
Before long, this delightful Pittie crossed paths with Justine from Reno, Nevada, who welcomed her into her forever home.
Maple has now fully healed and no longer requires bandaging, but her butterfly costume will always represent the beginning of her amazing recovery journey.
She is thriving and enjoying her life alongside her dog siblings, embarking on new adventures every day!
From once being an injured dog with little hope, Maple is now a joyful new girl, all thanks to the kindness of people!
