When two dogs, Poppy and William, were discovered wandering together, they were in such poor condition that they hardly resembled dogs, as they were severely malnourished and had lost most of their fur.
The compassionate public couldn’t bear to see their suffering, so they quickly took them to a local veterinary clinic, which later placed them in the RSPCA’s care.
Adorable Duo
Due to their dire condition, many felt they required extensive care. Even with treatment, their survival wasn’t guaranteed.
“It’s heartbreaking to reflect on their rescue; they endured so much trauma and appeared deeply withdrawn and sad. It was evident they had been exploited for breeding and were callously discarded when they no longer served that purpose,” commented Hannah White, a worker at RSPCA Kent Isle of Thanet Branch, in a press release.
Everyone thought these inseparable pals faced a long and challenging recovery, yet they defied expectations.
Brand-new Doggos
In just three months, Poppy and William transformed into vibrant, healthy dogs.
“Now, they are full of energy and completely unrecognizable,” she added.
Both pups are thriving, having not only regained their health but also their soft, beautiful fur.
While they were in a foster home rebuilding their strength, they are now in search of a loving forever home where they can be together every moment.
“These two have faced adversity together and are totally bonded — William has significant vision impairment, so Poppy serves as his guide dog and devoted companion; they are inseparable, so we hope they can be adopted as a pair,” Hannah concluded.
