Loving Dog Delights in Grooming Fellow Pups, Spreading Joy All Around

Date:

There are a handful of feelings we cherish in life, and undoubtedly one of the most delightful is the joy of petting a dog.

Be it running your fingers through their thick fur or gliding along a soft, floppy ear, the joy of connecting with a dog is truly unmatched.

Interestingly, this joy isn’t only for humans. Believe it or not, there’s a loving dog that finds happiness in petting other dogs.

And he has no qualms about displaying this affection publicly.

They Were Surprised, But Enjoyed It

Meet Ruby, a playful dog who frequently visits The Den Doggy Daycare alongside her brother, Miles. This German Shorthair Pointer is anything but shy when it comes to mingling with fellow dogs, but she approaches it in a uniquely charming way.

Rather than running around and chasing the other pups, she opts to pet them.

As peculiar as it may sound, Ruby never hesitates to extend her paw. Initially bewildered, her dog companions soon appreciate the gentle approach, as she reaches out to them as if saying, “Hello,” and begins to pet them like a seasoned dog owner would.

To their delight, many dogs end up enjoying the attention, with some even asking for more!

One pet parent, Alanah Lorraine, who often brings her dog Lexy to daycare, was the first to observe Ruby’s “peculiar actions.”

“She does this every time she is here,” Lorraine shared with The Dodo. “We believe she craves some attention!”

Lorraine was quick to capture several of these sweet moments whenever she was at the right spot.

Eventually, she compiled all the clips into a single video and uploaded it to her TikTok profile. Almost immediately, the video took the internet by storm.

“I thought it would be adorable,” Lorraine reflected, “but I never expected it to go viral.”

The Video Sparked Many Reactions

In no time, the video amassed thousands of views, likes, and shares. Naturally, it attracted the attention of several prominent platforms.

One notable mention came from WeRateDogs, who shared Ruby’s story on their Twitter account, rating the video an impressive 14/10.

Viewers were enamored by Ruby as she gently interacted with other dogs, and the response was overwhelmingly positive!

Reddit also saw its fair share of entertaining reactions to the video.

“My dog does the same thing,” user CertainlyForgetful remarked. “Sometimes he wants to play, while other times he’s just looking for attention or trying to calm them down.”

An user named ThePelicanWalksAgain added, “Sometimes dogs mimic human actions, but generally they want to see if the other dog is ready to play! This behavior is akin to a play bow or presenting their rear for sniffing.”

User Clever_Userfame articulated that a dog trainer had explained it as “minor dominance behavior”, often useful for initiating play.

However, aside from such professional observations regarding the motivations behind these actions, most comments simply celebrated how cute it was to witness such endearing moments.

Ultimately, Ruby has demonstrated that even dogs can exhibit affection in ways we typically think are human traits.

We believe Ruby serves as an example of what genuine love for dogs looks like, especially for those who may not treat these wonderful creatures with the kindness they deserve.
