It’s difficult to fathom the sadness that accompanies the loss of a dog. No amount of words can truly convey the sorrow an owner experiences when their beloved pet goes missing.

When Shamantha Powers, a resident of Indiana, discovered that her cherished dog, Loki, had gone missing, her heart was left in tatters.
She scoured every corner in search of him, but after nearly two years, she surrendered her hope. Until…
A Point of Despair
It was undoubtedly one of her hardest days, but Powers eventually came to a difficult decision regarding her search for Loki. Since his disappearance, she had reached out to numerous people and shared posts across all social media platforms, yet there had been no replies.
“As soon as I returned home, I searched tirelessly, posted on every social media site — PetSmart, lost animal forums, Pet Finder, Craigslist, everything I could think of, all without any success!” Powers expressed on Facebook.
With each passing day, the chances of locating Loki diminished further.
Ultimately, Powers felt completely hopeless, firmly believing that she would never reunite with him. Then one day, the phone rang!
A Joyful Reunion
The compassionate team at Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control, Indiana, provided the most wonderful news for Powers and her family!
After escaping from the person who had been looking after him, Loki was taken to the facility for a microchip scan. Then, the familiar “beep” sounded! Loki, indeed, had a microchip, reuniting him with his family!
The staff promptly contacted Loki’s original owner, resulting in one of the most heartwarming reunions imaginable!
“We successfully reached out to his owner and learned that she had been missing him for almost 2 years; her joy was overwhelming when we notified her that we had found her baby,” FWACC shared in a Facebook post.
Powers could hardly process the joyous news. It felt surreal. After everything, she was finally going to reunite with her beloved Loki. It truly felt like a miracle!
“After searching tirelessly for him, I had nearly given up. Then I received a call yesterday saying they found my boy. The surge of emotions is indescribable,” she shared in another post.
