One such dog is Borac!
Prior to being rescued by Bruno from a local city shelter, Borac was unaware of what a good life entailed. His existence revolved around the same dreary routine within those four confinement walls. To make matters worse, his fur was so badly matted that his charming personality remained hidden from view.
However, Bruno looked beyond the 14 pounds of tangled fur and made the decision to alleviate Borac’s suffering – and in the most compassionate way imaginable!
Rescued After 3 Long Years In A Shelter
Bruno, the founder of Save The Dogs Rescue, has dedicated his life to rescuing dogs. His approach has always been to help the one that needs it the most.
“When we go to rescue dogs from the city shelter, we look for the ones in the worst condition,” Bruno shared with The Dodo.
On that particular day, it was Borac, the dog with an incredible fourteen pounds of matted fur. He had spent the last three years at the city shelter, and it was clear that he was in dire straits.
His appearance alone conveyed the struggles he faced – a life filled with sorrow. With over 1,200 dogs in the shelter, he certainly lacked the attention he desperately required.
Despite receiving minimal care in such dreadful conditions, Borac maintained his sweet disposition. When Bruno first approached him, he immediately wagged his tail and showed a willingness to play.
At that moment, Bruno recognized the love hiding beneath those horrific mats – Borac was a true sweetheart waiting to be rescued!
Time To Regain His Style
Transporting Borac to the grooming salon was the manageable part of his rescue. However, grooming a dog who has experienced years of neglect proved to be a daunting task!
A skilled team spent hours meticulously removing the years of matted fur clinging to Borac’s body. Finally, they unveiled just how stunning he truly was beneath all that fur!
“As we trimmed away the fur from his body, he expressed his gratitude,” Bruno remarked.
His transformation was astonishing. Beneath the layers of mats, a lovely dog emerged who was eager to begin a fresh chapter in his life! The team was equally overwhelmed with joy!
Awaiting a Home With His New Temporary Family
Following his intensive grooming session, Borac was transported to Bruno’s rescue facility.
This compassionate man has built a sanctuary for more than a thousand dogs who lack caregivers, and now Borac has joined their ranks!
“Every new arrival finds safety here, away from pain, anxiety, and the need to search for food and shelter. They are protected from those who might harm them,” Bruno shared on his TikTok account.
Bruno’s journey began with his first dog, Mia, a French Bulldog, who ignited his passion for creating this extraordinary refuge. Today, it has evolved into a sanctuary for countless dogs in need.
“Here, they receive medical care, nourishment, fresh water, and most importantly, they regain their dignity,” Bruno proudly states.
Borac is adapting wonderfully to his new setting. He’s gradually meeting his fellow furry companions, and most crucially, he’s in a place filled with love and safety!
When the right moment arrives, there’s no doubt this handsome boy will find his forever family. It’s just a matter of time.
