Every dog deserves a joyful and worry-free existence with loving owners who care for them endlessly.
Each pup should greet the day with a wagging tail and plenty of cuddles from their humans.
Unfortunately, many dogs in shelters struggle to find their forever homes filled with love.
Nyla, a two-year-old Rottweiler, was brought to the Humane Society of Broward County in Florida after being surrendered by her breeder.
Upon her arrival, the shelter staff instantly fell in love with her charming personality.
Nyla longed to discover humans who would shower her with the affection she had never known.
Nyla Begins to Lose Hope

Although the staff was captivated by Nyla, potential adopters couldn’t appreciate her sweet and gentle nature within the limited time of their brief visits.
Pets in shelters have a short timeframe to make an impression on visitors.
Nyla felt dejected as she seemed to go unnoticed.
She huddled in the corner of her kennel with a sorrowful gaze and a distressed look. Nyla began to lose hope of being adopted.
Realizing Nyla’s despair, her caregivers felt compelled to take action.
The team shared a video of Nyla on social media, expressing that she had started “losing hope and shutting down.”
Viewers felt heartbroken seeing Nyla’s footage, which displayed her sorrow as she lay in her kennel.

During this time, a family from St. Augustine, Florida, was wanting to adopt another dog after their Rottweiler named Benjamin passed away.
They were in search of a companion for their other dog, Soldier, who had been grieving his lost friend.
“Their current dog, Soldier—a Rottweiler who is nearly 3 years old, has been very depressed since his best friend died. He would cry at the TV when he saw animals on the screen,” stated Cherie Wachter from the Humane Society of Broward County in an interview with Newsweek.
When they saw the video of despondent Nyla, who was in urgent need of a home, they contacted the shelter without hesitation.
The loving family made a four-hour journey to the shelter to meet Nyla.
Nyla Receives a Second Chance

Nyla was overjoyed to meet her potential owner, Katherine, and her human sister, Myla, beaming with happiness.
Katherine enveloped the dog in a loving hug, and Nyla reciprocated with kisses. They immediately bonded and fell for each other.
Prior to officially adopting Nyla, Katherine and Myla wanted to ensure that Soldier would be companions with the sweet pup.
Fortunately, they had no need to worry. Soldier adored Nyla from the moment they met, and she was welcomed into the family.

Nyla and Soldier quickly became best buddies and shared endless playtime together.
They became inseparable.
Soldier is now much happier with his new playmate, and Nyla is ecstatic to have finally found the loving home she always dreamed of.

Nyla’s new family was deeply moved as they recognized the joy the dog brought into their lives.
“Katherine and her daughter have shed happy tears over what a miracle Nyla has become for them. Soldier’s joy has returned, and his eyes sparkle once again,” remarked Wachter.
Nyla now enjoys her ideal life with her beloved family. She seamlessly fits into their lives, completing their puzzle.
@humanebroward Oh sweetie 🥺🥺 Nyla is losing hope and shutting down. With so many other dogs available for adoption, Nyla wonders if anyone will ever notice her? 🙏 Her former owner used her for breeding, and now that he is done with her, he surrendered her to the shelter. This 2-year-old 94 pound beauty is on a mission to find her forever family where she will be loved as she deserves. 🏡💖 Nyla adores meeting new people, snuggling up with blankets and plush toys, and tasty treats. Plus, she’s got quite the charming personality—friendly, affectionate, and always ready for a new adventure. While Nyla gets along well with adults, kids, and other dogs, her size suggests that a home with older children might be the best fit. This big girl is as gentle as they come, and her loving nature shines through in everything she does. She’s house-trained, loves exploring during outdoor playtime, and enjoys playing in a baby pool. Nyla is hoping you’ll be the one to notice her and give her a real chance at love ❤️ To meet me, Nyla (ID 679799) or any other pet visit www.humanebroward.com to complete a pre-adoption application and then stop by the Humane Society of Broward County located at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL.
