Meet Sunny D
Upon learning about a dog freezing in a parking lot, the rescuers from Stray Rescue of St. Louis quickly arrived to help. They discovered the pup trying to warm himself in the sun but struggling against the cold wind. Approaching him gently, they soon recognized that he was a friendly dog. Although a bit skittish at first, he quickly understood they were there to assist him.
As one rescuer got closer and realized he was not aggressive, she put a leash around his neck, making Sunny D safe. Although hesitant to leave the parking lot, he eventually trusted his rescuers and followed them to their vehicle, where he was safely transported to their shelter in Missouri.
Hope For A Better Future
Once at the shelter, the staff examined Sunny D closely and discovered gashes on his side and possible puncture wounds on his legs. While the origin of these injuries is unclear, it’s possible he was previously abused and neglected before being dumped in the parking lot. Despite his past, he remained friendly towards the rescuers.
While confirmation of his prior situation is pending, one certainty remains: Sunny D is now in good hands, receiving the best care possible. His rescuers are committed to providing treatment and finding him a loving forever home with a caring family. Though it’s uncertain if that has already happened, it’s clear that this sweet dog will have no trouble attracting someone special who will cherish every moment with him.
